Small shelters / Sand volleyball courts / Batting cages: Choose space and submit payment to reserve your space. Shelters rent in specific timeblocks. To calculate the fee for your shelter rental, please add to cart. Sand Volleyball courts rent 1-2hrs, with 2 rentals allowed per week Monday-Sunday. Batting cages rent 1-2hrs, with 2 rentals allowed Monday-Friday.

Large shelters / Room requests: Once you locate the desired facility space and date, select each block of time until you have the range needed. Submit a permit request. Permit requests are subject to staff approval (2-3 business days). Upon approval, payment will be required to confirm the reservation. Your reservation is not finalized until you receive confirmation of your payment. For reserving a large shelter/room less than 7 days in advance, please contact the location.

The park is located on the northeast corner of where New Hope Church Road and the American Tobacco Trail intersect. The park serves as an important parking and restroom facility for the American Tobacco Trail, a 22-mile long multi-use trail that bisects Wake, Chatham and Durham Counties. The restroom structure was designed to blend with the architectural context of the area being derived from vernacular barn and shelter precedents in the surrounding area. Capacity 30.

Since its refurbishment in 2021, Penny Road Elementary School Park represents a collaborative effort between the Wake County School System and the Town of Cary. The park features one multi-purpose athletic field, a lighted baseball/softball field, two playgrounds, restrooms, a picnic shelter, and 13 acres of open space with a natural-surface walking trail and pond.
