All aboard for family fun! Enjoy a variety of art projects designed around special themes that encourage cooperative play and skill building.

Bring your unfinished project or start a new one at this Open Studio for oil painters where you can enjoy creating in a group setting. The facilitator will be available for individual guidance as needed. You must bring your own supplies.

Each class allows you to make beautiful any-occasion cards and learn creative stamping techniques and innovative paperwork designs. All levels of talent are welcome. Must bring supplies to class

Open studios offer you an opportunity to practice skills learned through our classes. Expert instructors are available to help with projects as needed. Membership pass fees: One visit: $3(R) $4(N),10 visits: $20(R) $30(N). No registration this is drop-in.

Learn the placement of facial features and how that helps capture the likeness of a face. Add shading to create a 3D effect to your black and white graphite sketch.

You will learn to paint beautiful landscapes, including techniques for painting skies and clouds, trees, atmospheric conditions, and much more. Particular emphasis will be placed on color mixing and using the temperature of colors to set the tone of the painting. Please bring your supplies on the first day, including paper towels. Beginner to advanced students are accepted with much individual attention and demonstrations.

Bring a project and join us for a relaxing afternoon of knitting and socializing. Share ideas and create dishcloths, afghans, mittens, and caps, which make lovely gifts. Help will be provided as needed.

Volunteers sew, knit, and crochet various dolls, quilts, and other goodies to be donated to local hospitals and care centers. More volunteers are always welcome, so please join us in giving. Donations of clean acrylic yarns, cotton cloth, and other items are needed. Please contact the Cary Senior Center front desk for details by calling (919) 469-4081.

Come join us at the Cary Arts Center this Fall 2024 for hands-on art making and skills-building activities. This is a private class. Please do not register for this class unless you are part of the private group.

This class is for intermediate or advanced artists with some experience with the basics of watercolor who are looking to expand their skills. Emphasis is on individual painting with one-on-one assistance. Topics will include the use of color, demonstration of brushwork, and how to develop a painting and composition.Supplies are required first day of class.
